zKorean FAQ

1. I can't read the Korean on the pages! It doesn't look Korean!

Go to the Browser Settings page to learn how to set up your browser.

2. I can't read Korean!

Ah, that's where the learning begins. Start here.

3. Can you translate something for me?

Due to time constraints, we do not translate items for visitors.

4. Why don't you have a Romanized dictionary? I can't read Korean.

The Romanization rules have been known to change over time, and it would be inefficient to rewrite over thousands of Romanizations in the dictionary every time the rules change. Furthermore, the current Romanization standard does not reflect the true pronunciation of Korean, and is usually unintelligible to Koreans. So it is to your benefit and ours that you learn Korean characters in a weekend or so just by practicing with home-made flash cards. We don't use standard Romanization on this site, but an in-house form that reflects natural pronunciation as closely as possible. And even then it is only used on the Appearance and Pronunciation pages.
